Vieux Donjon, Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2006

Red/purple.

Vinturi - earth, hazelnut liqueur, pepper. Deep, fruit submerged. Again, an iron note as it airs. A floral element also.

Intense and vibrant in the mouth, with a (believe it or not) citrus zest pungency/chew that hits the front teeth. I (almost) never get citrus in French Grenache. Deeper and more refined than Las Rocas, but I'll be damned if there isn't a family resemblance.
