Dona Paula "Seleccion de Bodega" Malbec, Mendoza 2005

Purple/red.

Vinturi - earth, oak spice/toast, meat drippings on the nose. Black fruit underneath. Well-integrated.

Round and a bit sweet in the mouth - reminds me of Shiraz - as does the deep black raspberry fruit character. Acidity provides most of the structural support, which dominates the mid-palate and finish. Tightly wound and not particularly enjoyable at the moment.. Needs several years. Or some lamb and roasted potatoes.
