Saxum, James Berry Vyd., Paso Robles 2007

Purple/red.

Vinturi - deep nose also shows nice lift - black fruit and strawberry, savory meat/earth/nut, shoe polish, steak sauce. Very attractive, sumptuous.

Round, sweet and completely mouth-filling, with a hit of alcohol throwing things off-track a bit in the mid-palate. Alcohol/acid/tannin synergy constrict the finish, but still has nice follow through. I'd drain this over the next 2-3 years.

$80. 15.8% alcohol. 41% Grenache, 31% Mourvedre, 28% Syrah.
