Palacios "Petalos" 2004 (Bierzo, Spain)

Deep red/purple.

Spicy/peppery/earthy/clay aromas with a lurking citrus note.

Aromas repeat as intense, linear flavors in the mouth. No sense of weight or oak influence.
Long acid-driven finish, chewy tannin arriving late.

I love this stuff.


Day 3 - A spicy sausage character now too. Much deeper, fatter aromatically.
