Copain, Roussanne, James Berry, Paso Robles 2005

Yellow.

Buttered popcorn, almond extract, vanilla, poached peach aromatics.

Round and mouth-filling, with a sweetness of fruit/texture that plays off reasonably strong acidity and tannic/stony "chew". This builds incrementally. Nothing easy here, which makes it far more interesting. There's some orchard fruit, but this is really about rocks and (informed/great) winemaking technique.
