Straw, light yellow. Slight copper tinge.
Quince, nutmeg, lemon and a toasty/leesy note on the nose.
Intensely flavored, lean, with strong acidity and a lemon/mineral/leesy character that (again) reminds me of really good Champagne. I expected this to be broad and mouth-filling given that it is apparently based on Marsanne. There is a bit of initial almond richness, but that recedes in the mid-palate, only to flare up again in the very long finish (almond/mineral). Unusual, interesting.
$45. Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier, Macabeo and Pinot Noir
