Gourt de Mautens, Rasteau 1999

Deep, murky, red.

Smoke/embers, spicy red and black fruit, licorice nose.

Deep and sweet texturally, showing a bit of heat, but nothing crazy. Very concentrated, with a dry, grainy chew. Not refined, but loads of depth. I doubt the tannin will ever integrate (this thing will always be rustic), but plop a lamb shank on the table and you'll be happy.
