Chateau Leoville Poyferre, St. Julien 1996

Deep, saturated red.

Vinturi - iron/suave barrel toast/grilled herbs/earth (light brett, but attractive)/blackcurrant/flowers on the nose. Integrated, subtle, interesting.

Round middle-weight. Firm structure slowly reveals itself, but does not shut down blackcurrant/earth/ember flavors. Not incredible, but very satisfying action. It seems to me that this could use another 4-5 years in the cellar.
