Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast 2004

Red.

Very deep nose shows lifted spice notes, savory meat, black cherry coulis, black pepper, and earth/truffle.

Round and mouth-filling, sensual and packed. Nice acid/tannin synergy reins it in a bit. Very well-balanced for a wine so concentrated. Nothing heavy here, either. Cinnamon/disulfide lift in the mid-palate, with corresponding light tannic chew. Not wildly complex, in the usual sense of the word, but it's hard to complain...
