Saint Cosme, Cote Rotie, 2003

Red.

Vinturi - subtle, complex nose - pepper/herbs/earth/raspberry/savory meat/oak spice. Keeps changing in the glass.

Round, really round, with sour green/acid edge hitting late, but making up for lost time. Showing no complexity to speak of on the palate, but that is a matter of time. Does not show any mid-palate let up, like some other '03s I've had. Significant acid/tannin constriction in the finish.

Day 3 - Smoked meat front and center, with other aromatic components subordinated. In the mouth, also, but still constricted and not complex.
