Borsao Garnacha "Tres Picos" 2004 (Campo de Borja)

Deep red/purple.

Extremely deep, fresh nose. Citrus zest, earth/clay, spice, green spice/stem(?) aromatics. This, like the Alto Moncayo bottles, was double-decanted two days ago. This bottle seems to have benefited the most from aeration. On day 1 it was all citrus and quite lean.

Vibrant, pungent citrus skin, pepper/spice flavors. A riot of flavor through acid-driven structure. No let up, and no noticeable oak influence to trip up fruit character. Chewy citrus finish with a hint of iron.

What a stupid value.
