Castano Monastrell 2005 (Yecla, Spain)

Deep purple/red.

Deep, very fresh, lifted blackberry plum nose. Floral, clay/earth and spice notes also.

Very fresh in the mouth, too. Round mouth-filling character. Shuts down abruptly, though, with a finishing note of iron.

Very satisfying. Would be better with something from the grill.
